Ministry of Youth and Sports, ReThink Tech Foundation Deepen Digital Skills Push in Nimba County
The Nimba County Office of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) has commended the continued partnership and support of ReThink Tech Foundation toward the successful implementation of the ICT Computer Training Program at the Sanniquellie Youth Center.
Launched nearly two years ago, the initiative has already graduated its first cohort of 87 young people who successfully completed the program. The second cohort, comprising 125 students, is currently undergoing four months of intensive ICT and computer skills training and is expected to graduate in the coming weeks.
The program continues to empower young people with practical digital and workforce skills that improve opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, and personal development across Nimba County. One of the standout achievements from the first cohort includes a graduate who utilized the acquired skills to produce music content for ReThink Tech Foundation, which is now being used during the organization’s live Facebook podcast broadcasts.
The upcoming graduation ceremony will feature participants from diverse professional and educational backgrounds, including teachers, NGO workers, government employees, high school students, and elementary school students.
As part of its broader commitment to youth empowerment through technology, ReThink Tech Foundation has also announced plans to establish additional computer laboratories in Bong, Margibi, and Grand Gedeh Counties following the completion of the current expansion phase.
In further support of the initiative, the Foundation has continued supplying computers, keyboards, mouse devices, and other essential ICT materials to strengthen operations at the Sanniquellie Youth Center training facility.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports Nimba County Office reaffirmed its commitment to creating opportunities that equip young people with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to compete and thrive in today’s rapidly evolving digital world.
