Paynesville, Liberia, June 29, 2026 – The Acting Deputy Minister for Youth Development, Hon. Alphonso Y. Belleh, speaking on behalf of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Atty. Cornelia Wonkerleh Kruah has called on the newly inaugurated leadership of the Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY) to embrace a culture of respect, collaboration, and coordinated action to advance the interests of young people across Liberia.
Delivering the keynote address during the inauguration ceremony of Mr. Duku Jallah as President of the Federation of Liberian Youth and the induction of the Federation's corps of officers on Friday, June 26, Hon. Belleh said the Ministry is implementing a Paradigm Shift in youth development that places inclusion, accountability, and opportunity at the center of national youth empowerment.
Representing Minister Kruah, Hon. Belleh emphasized that the Ministry is moving beyond traditional approaches to youth leadership by creating genuine pathways for every young Liberian, irrespective of political affiliation, geographical location, or background. He noted that the Ministry is committed to ensuring that talent and potential are nurtured through inclusive policies and strategic partnerships.
Congratulating President Jallah and his leadership team, Hon. Belleh described their inauguration as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the Federation and the Ministry in implementing the Government of Liberia's youth development agenda.
He stressed that while the Ministry stands ready to support the Federation, it equally expects the organization's leadership to demonstrate respect for national youth policies and institutions, maintain constructive collaboration with government and development partners, and coordinate its activities with the Ministry's strategic priorities to maximize impact for young people throughout Liberia.
"The Federation of Liberian Youth is not an island; it is a bridge that connects the aspirations of young people with the institutions that can transform those aspirations into reality," Hon. Belleh stated.
Hon. Belleh reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to working closely with the Federation while expressing confidence that the new leadership will serve with integrity, accountability, and purpose, helping to create meaningful opportunities for Liberia's youth across all fifteen counties.
