Deputy Minister for TVET
Laraamand S. Nyonton is a dedicated Liberian professional with extensive experience in workforce development, conflict resolution and leadership.
His journey has been driven by a passion for empowering people, strengthening institutions, and creating sustainable opportunities for youth in vulnerable communities.
Hon. Nyonton serves as the current Deputy Minister for Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) at the Ministry of Youth and Sports. In this role, he leads the implementation of Liberia’s National TVET Policy, with a particular focus on expanding access for out-of-school and disadvantaged youth. Hon. Nyonton provides strategic direction, overseeing program design, and ensuring quality assurance through competency-based training systems. He also works to align vocational education with national development priorities, including economic growth and workforce readiness.
Throughout his career, Hon. Nyonton has developed extensive experience in program management and leadership. From working as an Outreach and Job Placement Specialist on the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program, to establishing an immigrant-led workforce development company in the State of Pennsylvania, USA, Hon. Nyonton’s experience has strengthened him with the skills-set to manage and lead projects, partnerships and organizations.
Hon. Nyonton is a Student-at-Law at the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law in Liberia. He holds a Master of Science in Business from Lincoln University and a second master’s in international Peace and Conflict Resolution from Arcadia University.
