Turning Over Ceremony and Induction of Att. Cornelia W. Kruah as Minister of Youth & Sports
Liberia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports marked a leadership transition as Atty. Cornelia W. Kruah officially assumed office, succeeding Cllr. Jerror Cole Bangalu, who now heads the Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission.
In his farewell remarks, Bangalu expressed fulfillment in his service, highlighting key achievements including a Five-Year Youth and Sports Strategic Plan, progress on the National Youth Policy and National Peace and Security Plan, vocational training graduations at MVTC and BDOTC, and the recruitment and graduation of 150 cadets under the National Cadet Program. He urged the new Minister to prioritize signing the TVET Commission Act, expanding digitization, repealing PRC Decree 35 through a new Ministry Act, and constructing a permanent headquarters.
Minister Kruah described the transition as symbolic and pledged results-driven, disciplined leadership. She called for professionalism, productivity, and accountability, while promising to advocate for improved salaries and working conditions despite budgetary constraints. Acknowledging existing challenges, she emphasized teamwork, transparency, and interdepartmental coordination as the Ministry embarks on a renewed focus on reform and performance.
